dashboard battery chargingwarning light (V6)
Just come home from a short run to the gym, and noticed the battery charge warning light has come on. Had a quick look under the passy seat and the alternator is still there, with belt intact. Anything obvious i should be checking (fuse, relay) before i take her to a garage?........any help greatly appreciated.

Put a voltmeter across your battery with the engine off......then do the same with the engine running.....it should read about 12volts and 14 volts respectivly.....if it reads the same for both then your alternator is not charging the battery...
If so...put the voltmeter to the biggest terminal on the alternator and earth....should read about 14.5/15 volts
Then report back with findings.

Well, the diagnosis is, non-functioning alternato
r.........currently residing at a local auto electricians, who are going to remove and re-condition it, and re-fit it and warranty it for 12 months.....all for the sum of £160.00 sterling, didnt think that sounded too bad, as my breif research into a replacement looked like around £180 for a different "exchange" re-conditioned one type deal plus the cost of removal and refitting.
Your thoughts please.
