Mason alarm query

Post by sunnyjim82 » Sun May 20, 2012 12:08 pm

Fitted a mason alarm over the weekend,I expected a rise in temperature reading after reading a few threads on the matter however mines only moved slightly!it was at the 11 o clock before and now half way between that and 12 o clock. I also had to move the alarm setting from 4 to just below(approx 3.8) which seems to be right for the normal running temp. Is this normal? Or is my coolant system top notch!?
Noticed a difference when I had 8 men in it going up a hill!the temp rose a little bit and the alarm went off briefly but that's about it!

Don't know why the little face came up with shades on but that was supposed to read '3.8'

You should find the gauge is more "active" rather than just sitting at the 11 O'clock position, it should be moving up/down with load - which sounds like it is!
The 3.8 was because you put the a ")" after it, so it looked like a Smiley code - 8) - which is "8)" just leave a space before the end bracket 3.8 )

Oh right! 8) yer it is much more responsive it's great ,really happy with it! Just wondered if it was normal for the temp to be so low after reading everyone else's at 1-2 o clock

Mine sits just under the 12 o'clock position, the gauge moves a bit if i put my foot down on the hills , mine is set to about number 4 on the dial.
The position on the gauge is lower than it used to be (about 1 o'clock), but i did a coolant change and used an original Mazda stat and a fitted a new water pump.
Lost without my Bongo.
