Fitting wing mirror glass

Post by Jon H » Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:11 pm

Just got a new glass but it won't fit inside the lip that should hold it into the housing. Any ideas? it dosn't look like the type of plastic that will soften in hot water..............

Hi,what glass mirror did you purchase?,most from eBay just stick on to the original,or the back plate if no original.

It's this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390506263902? ... 1497.l2649

I tried just sticking it on but it started coming away after about an hour's driving. The glass is the right size if only you could fit it inside the frame, the retaining lips on the back plate make it seemingly impossible to fit inside.

With a bit of brute force the mirror tabs/clips should just snap to the bars on each corner if pushed from the centre once lined up...!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
