Bongo Summer Camp 2013

Post by Ian » Wed Jul 03, 2013 1:24 pm

This will be held near Manningtree, Essex from 14 to 19 August. Tickets for this event sold out very quickly, so we received an extra allocation. But of these, we now only have 3 electric and 8 non-electric pitches left. Full details in the member's area here: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... tm#rallies

Thanks Ian for organising the Summer Camp@ Manningtree.Out of a scale of ten unfortunately I rated the site itself @3,the site amenities rated @-3, the bus service which I used all the time rated @9, the walking rated @10+++.The best walk being the 14miles from Bradfield to Harwich on the Essex Way alongside the River Stour & the sea at Dovercourt Bay.The second being the 13 mile walk from Bradfield to Manningtree & up one side of the river to Flatford Mill and back down the other side(the wildlife on this Side, the different species of birds, wildfowl, butterflies, and flowers was amazing)and back to Bradfield on the Essex Way.Once again thanks Ian. Cheers Michael

Came back from this on Monday. A seven hour crawl down the A12 and round the M25. It certainly gave the Bongo cooling system a good workout.

I agree with Lone Ranger about the site, not the best. The showers were interesting to say the least. My sandals got a unscheduled wash when the water flowed backwards and under the door. Never came across that style of plumbing before. An Essex speciality? At least the water was hot.

The company was excellent though and the quality of the dog walking superb. I thoroughly enjoyed the Harwich beer festival and the lightship.

So overall an excellent weekend. Thanks to Ian and everyone who attended .
