Right side indicators not working, V6 new shape
Hi the right side indicators have stopped working on my Bongo.
The arrow indicator on the dash doesn't light up either. When putting the hazards on the right side doesn't work either.
My wife reports that this was an intermittent fault when she drove the other day.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is the bulb ok?
Re: Right side indicators not working, V6 new shape
Thanks for the quick reply Rita. I haven't checked the bulbs yet. Would a faulty/blown bulb cause all the indicator lights on one side to go out? Any instructions on how to access the indicator bulbs?rita wrote:Is the bulb ok?

Normally, when a bulb fails, the remaining bulbs will flash much faster. A duff bulb does not seem to be the most likely cause, but it's something you can check for yourself and eliminate it as being the culprit. You don't mention which year your 'new shape' van is but for 2002 headlamps, you need to remove the headlight. Indicator is the grey bulb holder:

Rear light is a couple of screws and then prise the light cluster off.

If neither the Indicator light nor the actual flasher lights are working then its either going to be the module or the stalk switch.

Can you hear the module clicking when the Right indicators are selected, compare with the Left side ? If there is no clicking it might indicate the stalk switch rather than the module 50/50 chance I guess. If it is clicking then most likely the module itself.

Possibly not the stalk as the same problem apparently occurs when using hazard light switch.

There is no clicking when the right indicators are selected.
Where is the module located and is it easy to replace? How about the stalk switch? Easy to replace. Can you recommend somewhere to buy one? Many thanks

The module is up under the passenger side footwell on the forward bulkhead - see the next page of the diagrams above for physical locations. Much easier to get to than the Stalk from other peoples comments!

Checked all bulbs even those behind the dash and they work.
Found the module which on my model is in the drivers footwell. Took it apart and watched the points engage.
Hazards on: Both points engage and disengage but only left indicator lights come on.
Left indicator selected on the stalk: Points engage and disengage, Indicators work no problem.
Right indicator selected on stalk: Point engages but does not disengage, indicators don't work.
With hazards on you can see a spark when the left point engages and disengages but no spark when right engages and disengages. Evidence that no power is going to right point?
So this is what I summise. Stalk is working because it is sending a signal to module which engages the point. Module mechanism is working as the hazard makes it engage and disengage for both left and right.
The lack of spark on the right module point makes me think that no power is reaching it. This could be a fault in the module? or wiring somewhere else?
Plan: Replace module first and see what happens.
Any help tracking down a new module would be appreciated. It is a Imasen BG3F 66 830 Flasher 3211-206-320.
Many thanks in advance.

Yup almost certainly the module, the external wiring unless it has a short on it should be common.
Yes its in the drivers footwell, not sure what I was thinking of when I said the passenger side, sorry for any confusion!

Re: Right side indicators not working, V6 new shape
Can the modules be swapped from one side to the other to confirm diagnosis?
Re: Right side indicators not working, V6 new shape
There is only one module that controls both sides. Perhaps the wires going into the module could be swapped around to do a diagnostic however, I do not know which ones to swap.Simon Jones wrote:Can the modules be swapped from one side to the other to confirm diagnosis?
