Overnight spot on route to Dover

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Overnight spot on route to Dover

Post by Spencer54 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:56 pm

Anyone wanting a little freebie overnighter on the way to/from France have a look at Shellness Beach on the Isle of Sheppey.

It has a little pub and chipshop nearby and a mini supermarket thing a couple of minutes up the road.
The arse end of nowhere really, but has good views of Whitstable/Hernebay etc.

Only thing there are sea fisherman and the odd motorhome.
I was up there yesterday - it perfect for a Bongo stop.

You beat me to it Briwy!

(Please note my mission statement at the foot of my posts)

I once witnessed an amusing episode down there when a stickler for his rights got dressed from the buff right next to the sign, taking care to stay just on the naturist side of the notice. The sign is on the top of a mound.

To be fair, that part of the beach is a lot further down the road than the car park where Spencer's Bongo is shown.

We can expect an album of high quality images, as usual, then!

Found one on my travels this week in Folkestone.

Up high near the Battle of Britain Monument - some beautiful views over the Channel, a nice pub and not far from the Dover crossing or the Channel Tunnel.

Have a look if you're in need of a stop/stay across.

Here's the pub
