Dist cap etc for 2.0l petrol 2002

Post by johnl » Wed May 21, 2014 10:51 am

Have found a Distributor Cap and Rotor Arm on ebay but they say are only suitable for SGE3 models. Would these fit SGEW models? Also HT lead set but only for models without a king lead - would this be OK for SGEW model. All 3 are suitable for 2.0L petrol 95 - 2006. Any help appreciated.

Should be fine. The difference relates to vehicle spec rather than engine:

With regard to king lead, all distributors should have one as its the only connection to the coil & it would be well worth replacing that if you are replacing other HT leads. In the case of the V6 engine, you have to order the king lead separately.

That's interesting. It suggests there are two types: with internal & external ignition coils. Might be an idea to physically count whether the dizzy cap has 4 or 5 leads attached.
