Steering wheel - strange noise
For the past week or so my steering wheel has made a strange noise. It's an occasional crack or scratchy noise. Definitely from behind the steering wheel. It sounds like a bearing - is there one? Any ideas how difficult it is to remove the steering wheel? I'm a bit nervy of the airbag going off.

Thanks.

Re: Steering wheel - strange noise
There's a universal joint buried down under the bonnet - I've heard it can get dry and that spray grease can ease it.

Re: Steering wheel - strange noise
It's higher up than that - it sounds like it's coming from right behind the steering wheel.
   Thanks for the suggestion though.

Re: Steering wheel - strange noise
could it be the indicator self cancelling, do they work and cancel ok.?? or the clock spring for the airbag.
have a look at these links below.click on the black numbers on the diagrams, then look to the left, it tells you what each part is etc.
