Etiquette!!!!

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Etiquette!!!!

Post by bongoroy63 » Wed Sep 10, 2014 1:37 pm

I am really looking forward to my first Bongo Fury meet and want to make sure I do things right.
Do members identify themselves by having their club names on display by their pitches so everyone knows who they are? I read the forum a lot and would like to speak to other members about things they put on the forum but won't know who they are. I don't want to walk around the site asking who everyone is. Sorry if this sounds like a daft or sensitive question but I just wanted to know before I go.
I can, I do, I did.

It depends what kind of meet it is. If it's an official club meet like Looe (where you need to be a paid-up member of the club), a lot of people who attend those meetings aren't on the forum. A lot are, and they do sometimes identify themselves with an A4 sheet of paper in the windscreen etc but don't be surprised if you announce yourself as bongoroy63 to get some blank looks :D

Other meets organised through the forum will generally all be attended by like-minded folk

I have to admit do to my sons poor health I have never been to a Bongo Fury meet .. but I have to 'another' Bongo meets .. and quite a few with the TEOC (Toyota Estima Owners Club) ..

After the meets .. on a couple of occasions, there as been feed back by some people that nobody spoke to them ..

You have to remember it takes more than one to make conversation .. (unless you always want to win an argument .. by only talking to yourself ..!!) so it's not always good policy just to sit back and expect people to come and talk to you ..

Like I said I have not been to a Fury meet .. but the TEOC have a great system .. where they have a 'Jacobs Join' ..

It's a 'meet and greet' buffet where members do there own food / sarnies / drinks what ever and put them on a communial table .. where every one can join in .. get to eat some one elses food / drink .. and have an easy 'break the ice' get together with like minded people ..

It's a goog way to break the ice at an official bash to put your forum name on your windscreen. Watch out for my flag!

Thanks for the replies. I will make something up and stick it in the window. I just didn't want to be the only saddo to do this. I will endeavour to speak to as many members as possible so prepare yourselves for some stupid questions from me. You have been warned!!!
