Which seats to keep in mid conversion?
I'm getting a mid conversion done on my bongo, which will retain the rear row of seats. It currently has the standard rear bench seat and the middle row split seat which folds down into "table tops". Is there any benefit in removing the bench seat and sliding the split seat to the back for the conversion? Any thoughts on the pros and cons?

keep both. pull off the plastic facings on the seat legs then 4 bolts mount the seat to the sliders so you can just chop and change.

I did consider that but I don't really have the space to keep the spare seats

Ermmh. Maybe not, lol

Although the one piece bench is slightly less lumpy when forming part of the bed, it is a lot less versatile than the 2/3 split middle seat.
I wasn't put on this Earth for carrying lots of passengers, so having the middle seats slideable anywhere in the back is just what I want.
Sometimes I want them at the back for sleeping and even then I like to be able to raise one back or the other in order to get at something stowed below. It would be a pain having to raise the whole width each time.
The tables are extremely useful for all sorts of activities.

Not being a smoker myself, I've only just noticed the health and safety implications of that layout!

That mirrors my gut feelings, the bench seat is more comfy, the split seat is more useful. I will probably need to keep both until I'm sure!

If you're removing the middle seat yourself remember its monster heavy. I mean REALLY HEAVY.
I'd advise getting a pal to give you a hand.

What he said! Luckily my neighbour is a super-fit type and helped out. Do not try it on your own!Bob wrote:If you're removing the middle seat yourself remember its monster heavy. I mean REALLY HEAVY.

Thanks for the warning! I might get husband and son on the case

Re: Which seats to keep in mid conversion?
If you opt to make them 'the seats of choice' and keep them facing the way Mr Inamoto intended, lifting them won't be a problem!

We're about to get a mid conversion done and are going to move the split seat to the back as I can think of lots of times the extra table will come in handyJoe_anne123 wrote:That mirrors my gut feelings, the bench seat is more comfy, the split seat is more useful.
