First failure on Mini(bago)

Well after starting its 9th year of ownership, the radiator top seal decided to fail today!
Fortunately we spotted it before any real problems developed So shall need to get that done next week, gives a chance to sort a couple of minor advisories on the last MoT as well, rear brake cable and rubber covers.
Still can't complain only the spark plug leads and distributor arm have had to be replaced previously, outside of normal consumables!

Its been a good vehicle to you Geoff, the good news is the Bongo Fury shop stocks genuine Mazda radiator that should last another 20 years and at approx. £300.00 a bargain.

Mine did tbe same at a similar age. Spotted by DaveBlueOzzie as i drove in to the 10 year BF rendezvous near Chester.

AVA, who have been handling Bongos for years so hopefully source good parts, seem to be offering a replacement radiator for £94:

Yup I think the AVA Leisure is going to get a call from my garage, next week, would prefer Mazda but I don't expect that the rest of the vehicle live as long as a genuine one

I've just fitted rear discs and pads from ECP to a Renault Master and the quality was excellent according the the tester who did the re-MOT.

They had a promotion on and the lot cost £33. after discount.

With replacement radiators i'd like to know i was fitting one with cooling power to match (or exceed?) the original. Is there any ready way of establishing this, with so many (cheaper) copies available?

When we had ours done Allans put one he had been using from a supplier for many years but I have no idea what make or company or supplier so not much use. It is is a bit odd to see them range from £50.00 upwards on ebay.

We have been using Eurocarparts for a good number of years now (longer than I care to remember) , having purchase a huge amount of spares and accessories from them I must say the service received has been second to none . Any complaints regarding poor quality should be reported to Eurocarparts ,a lot of people do not complain to the suppliers whoever they may be , therefore they don't know that a problem exists with parts/service etc.

I stopped using Euro a few years ago due to the random quality, some parts good some shocking, one of my local garages has also stopped using them last week, personally I wouldn't take the risk as in my experience I might save a few quid but the cost involved if the parts fail can be large. I now only fir Ferrodo premier pads too as some other brands are not very good.

Yes Ferodo are good, do you happen to have the part numbers for the brake pads .

Sorry no I haven't changed the Bongo ones as I hardly do any miles in it.
The made a massive difference in my Discovery, even towing heavy loads it stops on a sixpence

Many garages in my area have also stopped using ECP due to poor quality, ends up costing them money due to comebacks that they have to sort & pay the labour on. A mate of mine (a very good mechanic) got a new brake switch for an EPC light on his daughters polo, fairly common problem, after trying 3 brake switches from ECP he started to doubt his diagnosis & thought he was out of his depth so put it into a local VW specialist, the garage phoned him an hour later to say that's it all sorted, new genuine switch fitted. He got three yes three faulty parts in a row.
