Heater - only working via feet/windscreen vents

Evening All,

Driving back from Devon on Sunday I encountered an odd issue - no matter what temp I set the heater to, the air coming out of the front vents remained cool, but it heated as expected via the feet and windscreen vents. So - if you had it set to 'Feet + Front Vents' you'd have toasty flippers but a frosty body!

Any ideas what's going on, please?!

Its not unusual for the linkage in the driver's footwell to come apart.

Easy fix.

on rhs of picture is a rod dangling
it should be in the hole at six o clock on the white plastic thing that rotates
