Engine will not rev

Hi I am desperate for help my bongo will start but will not rev higher than 1200 revs, this started whilst driving it started to judder and then the harder you press the accelerator the slower it went.
Any ideas would appreciated.

Diesel or petrol? What year?
Have you tried to read out any diagnostic codes?

Thanks for reply it’s 1995 diesel and I haven’t got anything to read codes.

Many people find that a blocked Banjo Filter causes this type of symptom;
