rear nudge bar
I have just seen on ebay someone selling his rear nudge bar as he was having a tow bar fitted.I was told I couldnt have the tow bar as well as the nudge bar, by the dealer I got my bongo from,I told him I still wanted the bar as i had paid for it, and a mate wanted it,any way whenI got home I checked underneath the bongo and found that there is no reason for not having both fitted I did.So if a seller tells you ,you cannot have both tell him you still want to keep and fit it yourself

It may depend on the type of towbar you have fitted. The main problem is that the thickness of the mounting bracket makes the nudge bar sit at an angle. The solution is to elongate the mounting holes on the bar, but being stainless steel, it is a sod to do without really good drill bits.

Hi there folks,
any1 able to advise how this nudge bar fits, managed to source one off evilbay which comes with bolts and 2 plates but unsure how it fits, I imagine a Picture of both fixes under the vehicle would be very useful unless it is really easy to do.
The person i bought off sold because the guy who fitted a towbar for them said they couldnt have this 2.
Thanks in advance

Beware the nudge bar!
If you intend to go fully loaded off road or on steep drives/cobbled roads etc beware that the nudge bar can 'bottom out'.
I've bottomed my towbar out about half a dozen times where gradients suddenly change. Mainly in rance but also getting on/off small ferries.
The nudge bar would be even lower!
Spose it depends if you want a fancy roads only vehicle or like mine one that is used as a daily workhorse on all surfaces and gradients.
cheers

The problem with bottoming out the nudge bar or tow bar is unrelated to the ground clearance of the vehicle on flat surfaces.
The problem lies when you encounter sudden changes in gradient where the projection beyond 'normal' at the exremity of the vehicle is accentuated.
A bongo without a bodykit has fairly good clearance over flat ground.

Im guessing it fits to the bumper brackets somehow ??Bongobus wrote:Hi there folks,

View of drivers side bracket - this mounts via horizontal bracket thru the chassis:

The passenger side bracket is angled upwards & again mounts thru the chassis:

The bar should have come with 4 bolts & 2 metal plates with captive nuts that slide into the box sections of the chassis. As I already had a towbar fitted, I did not need these bolts & plates, so just fitted the bar to the existing bolts.
BongoBus, as you are only down the road in Eastleigh, I'd be happy to meet up somewhere & give you a hand to fit it.
