flat spot 2.0 petrol/lpg

Post by zeberdy1 » Sun Jan 30, 2011 9:30 am

Hi,
small problem, appear to be getting a slight cut out of the engine for a split second, while moving feels like an old fashioned flat spot! when at a stand still the engine sometimes cuts out, starts up straight away no probs though any ideas? thanks

ps year 2000 2.0 petrol.lpg giving low mpg dont know if that helps normally very sweet running.

Hi zeberdy1,

Check the LT connector on the side of the distributor, they have a habit of coming loose, and might be needing cleaned also.

Cheers.

Hi Bob,is it only like that on lpg? If so it needs a tweak, take it back and they'll hook it up to the laptop, take it out for a run while connected usually makes for easier diagnostic.
Good luck Iz
I have a plan and its as HOT as my pants

If the ignition system is at all dodgy, that is bad news with LPG, it needs a good spark to ignite it.

If you know there is a poor connection get that fixed first before going on a hunt for other faults.
