flat spot 2.0 petrol/lpg

Hi,
small problem, appear to be getting a slight cut out of the engine for a split second, while moving feels like an old fashioned flat spot! when at a stand still the engine sometimes cuts out, starts up straight away no probs though any ideas? thanks

ps year 2000 2.0 petrol.lpg giving low mpg dont know if that helps normally very sweet running.

Have you had it recalibrated since install ?

Hi zeberdy1,

Check the LT connector on the side of the distributor,they have a habit of coming loose,and might be needing cleaned also.

Do have a slight problem with the lt connector, one of the wires has a slight nick in it did a bodge repair on it maybe its playing up, if I could remove noe of the pins I could do a proper job! any noe know how the wpins can be taken out of the connector block? :roll:

Hi Bob,is it only like that on lpg? If so it needs a tweak,take it back and they'll hook it up to the laptop, take it out for a run while connected usually makes for easier diagnostic.

If the ignition system is at all dodgy, that is bad news with LPG, it needs a good spark to ignite it.

If you know there is a poor connection get that fixed first before going on a hunt for other faults.

Hi Izzy,
like it on both, had an investigate dinner time today soldered the dodgy wire to the lt plug plus sprayed the plug with cleaner and on the drive home no probs ( Fingers crossed :roll: ) due its 1000ml. check up vey soon.
