Re: My first coolant issue :)
yep Jubliees to me are a "get you home" type method, possibly okay on the Radiator hoses at the radiator end but nowt else, use original type springbands myself...... not always easy to get hold of from usual sources such as some Motor Factors but these folks have 'em http://www.zeroclips.com/tridon_page16.htm - the Japanese fitted them for a purpose, not as many think, ease of production where you slide on the pipe, then when positioned "knock" off the red coloured locking piece to activate the clamping.......

Update : sourced all the right parts including original Mazda hoses, and NORMA supa-dupa hose clips. Garage did a great job, changed the hoses, full coolant renew, diesel injector pump o-rings but forgot to fit the NORMAS and used the old clips
However, they've fixed the leaking coolant, diesel and oil leak so I'm not complaining. They accessed the rear of the diesel pump by removing the inlet manifold (which as it turned out needed a new gasket anyway).
Happy days, I'm very tempted to replace the old jubilee clips with the NORMAS whilst the system is cold -what do you think?
ps. whilst I was at the garage I noticed they had some Bongo bull-bars lying around, showed interest and got them for £25!

Re: My first coolant issue :)
Definitely replace them IMHO. They allow the hoses and steel pipes to expand/contract, whilst keeping a constant gripping force. I know many folk have said this earlier in the post, but it can't be stresed enough. Mazda put them on for a very good reason. Gerrem swapped.Kincaid wrote: ....
