Hoping to be there about 8pm, (roads quiet)
I might be up for a wee walk. No mountains though!!!!!!

. Or spend the day at the pub.
Phoned the site today to find out about fishing, I won't be doing any, as it's abit too early in the season. The warden? who answered the phone was delighted I phoned as I reminded him about our forthcoming invasion.
See you all there.

MountainGoat wrote:Only Mrs G seems to be up for some walking and aparently only easy low level stuff. Me it depends on the weather (you get fussy as you get older). Its sixteen years since I completed all the munroes (no. 2205) so these days I just poodle about on a Corbett when in the mood. Bound to slow anyone down since I have only climbed one mountain in the past five years and that was Scafell Pike for the upteenth time. You will probably have better luck with another of the newbies.

Wow a Munro completist - well done! Which did you enjoy the most?
I've only done 12 myself (all easy and all in good weather due mainly to fear (also horribly unfit)

)
Don't think Donald would be up for anything needing crampons etc, but if any of the hills look clear of snow (possibly wishful thinking) he'll be up for a high walk.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Why, oh why did I chose such a naff forum name????

I'm up for a high walk. I'll bring my pack. Rain or shine.

Time to show off a bit. Me on the Cioch of Sgurr Sugumain on the way up Sgurr Alasdair in 1988.
Tony
PS: is there really any snow left up on the tops right now? If so I'll bring an axe and crampons, also got some spare ones which my nephews used when they went with me.

Mrs G has asked me to point out that she is up for walking a bit of a hill and not just a flat walk. Not sure she is up to your standards though Matt. Currently she has her nose in a book about walks in the area.
If there is any snow on the peaks it might mean a change of plans for myself and Muz Jr.

Yes, there is still snow on the hills, quite a lot of it, and down to below Corbett level. I can see it from my house! I'm always up for a hill but don't have winter skills. So it'll be low level. Then I might go, as there is a concert I want to go to in Glenuig on Sat, and stay there in my Bongo.

It was "full winter" on Stob Binnein last weekend.
I'll bring crampons and axe, just incase. I've not been out ALL winter, and this might be my last chance.

I am glad to hear it! Any time we have tried phoning there has only been an answering machine that you could not leave messages on and he never replied to the email I sent either!
So we will have our spaces!

You would think there would be plenty of space this time of year. The gentleman on the phone was very chatty, and could'nt of help more.

This is one of the reasons I wasn't that worried as we spoke to him for ages the last time!

I guess that the forcasted heavy showers are putting the wimps off. That reminds me I'd better bring my brolly for sitting round the camp fire.
