Over heating

mine was off the road almost 2 months, but in the end  I changed the thermostat, replaced any dodgy hoses and clips, changed rad cap, changed expansion bottle cap, flushed the system, flushed it againand again, then filled with good quality coolant and bled the system, at that time I had not seen manual and just bled it by instinct. It has done several thousand miles now, up some big hills and the temp stays constant. Hope this does not sound bigheaded, it is not meant to
