Starting problems

Hi I just connected a wire from my battery to the glow plug bar and the van started first time so I have ordered a linkable fused wire and hope it's that and not the relay will let you all know which one it was thanks to everyone for there help and assistance

Some Peeps fitted a push button switch between the Glow plug feed rail and the relay thinking (hoping) this would prolong the life of the plugs.

This is what my van was fitted with when I bought it the normal light is a coil lit by an orange light mine is jut a light in the dash my van is 1995 ...

Sounds like the fusible link might have blown if it worked when bypassed ?
The link feeds the relay from the battery terminal arm;

I haven't bypassed the fusible link so I don't know if it is working or not how would you bypass it is there ...

I would expect 12v at the glow plugs, are you testing them when the glow plug light is on?

Diesels don't tend to need much - fuel and compression is about it.

I don't have much Bongo specific experience as touch wood the Bongo hasn't had any problems yet!


I had a similar problem on a Discovery ...
